The Canon HF S11 HD camcorder is a professional level video camera combining an advanced set of controls, excellent imaging and enough storage capacity for a full days shooting. The HFS11 has a massive 64GB of internal flash memory plus the option of adding more via additional SDHC memory cards. The 64GB memory is enough to record over 24 hours of high definition footage.
The HF S11 features a manual control dial which can control 1 of 5 variables at the push of a button. This allows you to quickly and easily adjust settings such as focus, exposure and audio levels while you record. Other professional grade features include auto gain control limits (AGC), zebra patterns, colour peaking and test tone outputs.
The Canon HFS11 can capture still photos at resolutions of up to 8MP (6MP while recording). There is also a photo burst option which can grab 25 still images from a second of video.
The HFS11 combats camcorder shake with Canon’s Dynamic OIS (optical image stabilization) which can compensate for camera shake even at the wide end of the zoom. There is also Instant AF (auto focus) which can achieve highly accurate focus at lightening speeds.
The quality of video captures by the HFS11 is superb. The DIGIC DV III processor supports x.v.Color giving you richer colours and hues during playback on compatible TVs. There si also a 25p cinema mode which will match the look of traditional film. The DIGIC DV III processor really excels when shooting in low light conditions giving you crisp clean footage without the graininess you get from some cheaper camcorders.
