The Canon HF R16 is a really neat camera/camcorder to buy. The features of this camera are unbelievable. This is just one of those must have cameras.

This camera includes dual flash memory which means that is records video to 8GB built in flash memory. This camera also has fast capture and processing which has a sensor that makes it easier for fast capture and processing, and also low power consumption.

The Canon HF also features HD video lens and zoom, high speed processing, intelligent auto and face detection, and internal down conversion. It is perfect while you shoot on the move. The Canon HF has instant auto focus for crisp, clear focus. It makes sure that they are all delivered in HD footage. This camera is also good for capturing 2, 4, or 8 second series of videos. It also can create movies from many clips and play it back to you. It can’t get any better than this.

You may want to consider this camcorder because it is a camera and camcorder all in one. It does things that a regular camcorder cannot do. Many camcorders just record, but this one captures pictures as well, making it even more convenient to take with you anywhere. If you just want to use the camera you can, or if you want to use both, you also have that option availabe. This is not your normal camcorder, that is what makes it so special and unique.

The Sony HDR-CX130 is one of Sony’s 2011 entry level camcorders. The HDR-CX130 comes with a wide angle Sony G lens, plus 42X extended zoom that gets you closer to the action.

The extended zoom works in conjunction with a 30x optical zoom to get even closer to the subject while maintaining HD image quality. The 3.0” Clear Photo LCD Plus display gives the user excellent clarity with a 230K pixels resolution. The display on the camera rotates up to 270 degrees for the easiest of viewing angles, providing detailed images to be played back in the palm of your hand. The convenient touch screen provides easy access to all menus and additional functions such as spot focus and spot metering.

The Sony HDR-CX130 also functions as a point and shoot camera, giving you two devices to one. The CX130 focuses quickly and accurately in all light. The camcorder also gives the user the choice of four automatic shooting modes: movie, photo, Smooth Slow Record (3 seconds of motion played back at 25 percent speed), and Golf Shot. Much like the slow-motion capture capabilities of Smooth Slow Record, Golf Shot records a few moments of motion as a sequence of up to 22 images, which can be viewed ndividually or as a composite image, which is excellent for analyzing the subtleties of a golf swing, tennis serve, or other quick movements.

The manual settings are white balance, spot meter/focus, and exposure compensation. Additionally, Face Detection and Smile Shutter technologies make it easier to capture the smiling faces of your subjects while Intelligent Auto mode analyzes your shot and then automatically selects the appropriate settings from the camera’s distinct modes. The Sony HDR-CX130 is a great entry level camera with it’s good quality, easy use to modes, and it’s price compared to other similar cameras.

Panasonic makes high quality consumer electronics including televisions, cameras, and digital camcorders.

The Panasonic HDC-SD90 is a fully functional and jam packed digital, high definition digital camcorder. It’s 1080/50p full high definition capability makes this digital camcorder stand apart from the competition. It has great video performance with many wanted features. It’s optional 3D shooting is just another step towards an all 3D realm of technology.

The HDC-SD90 has an array of great user friendly features. It has a 28 millimeter wide angle lens which is great for recording in tight spaces because everything that you want in the picture will fit in the small space. The zoom on the camcorder is a 40X, which is a ridiculous amount of zoom in a small little camcorder.

The design of the camcorder is sleek and small. It fits in your hand nicely and is generally good looking.

Other shooting features are useful as well. The Optical Image Stabilizer allows the shaky camera to take a clear and crisp picture. This is incredibly useful for snapping pictures and recording video from far off distances. The Crystal Engine Pro also helps to take clear and crisp pictures and videos as it creates high resolution shots. A wind noise cancellation feature provides video to be taken without the annoying noise of wind in the air. Scene mode also creates better pictures and videos with a variety of different backgrounds. Soft skin mode is similar to scene mode as it creates better pictures and video by touching up the skin of the person you are snapping a picture of or recording. Last but not least, tele-macro is a mode that allows clear pictures and video from close distances, such as an up close flower or object.

The Panasonic HDC-SD90 is a jam packed camcorder offered for a reasonable price compared to its competitors. You definitely want to get this digital camcorder for the features, image quality, and overall comparable price against its competitors. This is definitely one of the best digital, high definition, camcorder on the market. Panasonic is a trustworthy brand to buy.

The Toshiba Camileo H20 HD Camcorder is an affordable options for those looking to purchase a high definition camcorder without breaking the bank.

The H20 is SD/SDHC card based with 64MB of internal memory. The internal memory isn’t really good for anything more than taking a handful of still photos, but with support for up to 32GB SDHC cards the S20 can be easily extended to record hours of HD quality video.

The lens offers a 5x optical zoom with is smaller than most other HD camcorders but this is reflected in the price as the S20 costs about 3x less than the average HD camcorder from brands such as Sony, Canon or Panasonic. Don’t be put off by the price though, the S20 still manages to pack in video stabilization, an HDMI output and a night mode for shooting in darker environments.

The H20 features a 3” colour TFT LCD screen for use while recording or to review your footage. The screen isn’t a touch screen like other higher priced models and all settings are controlled via buttons on the camcorder body.

Ever wondered what the letters and numbers in the model numbers for Panasonic’s HD camcorder range actually mean?

The models numbers are usually in the form HDC-XXYYY where XX is two letters and YYY is a number, e.g. HDC-SD10, HDC-TM700, HDC-HS300, etc. All of Panasonic’s high definition models start with the prefix HDC, we imagine this stands for “High Definition Camcorder” or something similar.

The next part of the model number refers to the recording format the camcorders has. Currently there are three variations, ‘SD’, ‘TM’ and ‘HS’. ‘SD’ means a memory card only camcorder, there will be a SD memory card slot accepting SD, SDHC or SDXC memory card media. There models are often the cheapest in the range as you have to supply your own memory card media to record. ‘TM’ stands for twin memory, twin memory models feature internal solid state memory and an SD card slot like the ‘SD’ models. The ‘HS’ models are hard disk models and feature an internal hard disk (and often a SD card slot like the other two types).

The number in the model number refers to the series of range of camcorder. E.g. HDC-TM700, HDC-SD700 and HDC-HS700 all refer to the new 700 series of high definition camcorder.

Any suffix you see after the number will usually be a reference to colour or any country specific differences the colour of the model. E.g. HDC-SD10EBK would be the UK model in black.

Something to bear in mind when shopping for a SD or TM model is the price difference. The only difference between a SD and TM model is the addition of internal memory. Often the price difference between the two models will be minimal and the TM can be a better deal. You need to be mindful of when the price between the two models is greater than the cost of an additional SD card the same size as the TM’s internal memory. In these cases it’s often better to purchase the SD model and use the spare cash on memory cards, unless there is a reason you really need the internal memory. This becomes more common as the models age and SDHC cards increase in size and decrease in prices faster than retailers reduce the price of the TM models.

A new features for these models is Panasonic’s newly developed POWER OIS (optical image stabilisation). Using a set of gyrosensors which detect any hand-shake and applies tiny corrective movements to a corrective lens to eliminate blurring. According to Panasonic the new POWER OIS is about 5 times more effective at eliminating low-frequency hand-shake leaving you with a clear, beautiful image when shooting across the entire range from wide-angle shots to telephoto zoom.

All 3 models record full high definition footage at 1080/50p (1920 x 1080, 50 progressive) for the ultimate in image quality. Shooting at this quality setting will tend to eat memory. A 64GB SDXC card will hold between 27 and 28 hours of footage at 1920x1080i, changing the setting to 1080p will reduce this to just 5 hours 20 minutes. This won’t pose a problem for the hard disk equipped HS700 but the two solid state based models will require more memory than previous models when shooting in this full HD mode.

The only real difference between the 3 models is the storage format. The HS700 can record onto both it’s 240GB internal hard disk or external SDXC, SDHC or SD memory card media. The TM700 offers 32GB of internal solid state memory or external memory card and the SD700 offers just memory card recording only.

Like many other of Panasonic’s more recent high end camcorders these models feature a manual ring which can be used to control a number of settings while recording, giving a little more control than having to adjust these settings using buttons alone. Other features include 5.1 surround sound recording with a wind noise canceller, face detection, hot shoe and 14.2MP still image capture.

The HDC-HS700, HDC-TM700 and HDC-SD700 will be released during March 2010. As soon as we find some retailers with stock we’ll offer price comparison tables to help you find the best deal.
