Panasonic HDC-HS20 details
The Panasonic HDC-HS20 is a hard disk based camcorder recording full HD 1920×1080 video footage. The hard disk installed in the HS20 is 80GB in size, there is also the option of shooting directly to a SD memory card and copying video between the two.
The HDC-HS20 uses a Leica Dicomar lens with a 16x optical zoom allowing you to get closer to your subjects without actually moving. A 16x zoom is very good for a camcorder of this price range where many similar priced models stop at 10 or 12x.
The LCD screen is touch screen operated making it easy to access common functions while recording. A particular neat feature is the AF tracking which allows you to select a subject on screen while recording with your finger and the HS20 will track them keeping them in focus even as they move.
Other functions on offer include Panasonics image stabilization in the form of Advanced O.I.S, face detection, a clever intelligent auto mode (iA) and a number of present scene modes helping you get the best out of every situation.
