Panasonic HDC-HS200 details

The Panasonic HDC-HS200 offers full HD 1920×1080 recording directly to it’s internal 80GB hard disk drive. 80GB is enough to record up to 12 hours of high definition video. The beauty with HDD camcorders is there are no additional costs of purchasing memory cards before you can record. The only downside of hard disk camcorders when compared to memory card camcorders is the slight increase in size and weight to accommodate the HDD.

The like the HDCSD200 the HDCHS200 features Panasonic’s unique 3MOS sensor technology. This provides 3 separate colour sensors to process red, green an blue channels separately. What this means for you is clearer, true-to-life colours and more detail, even in low light settings.

The HDC-HS200 is an ideal camcorder for shooting in low light conditions, in fact it can shoot right down to light levels of just 1.6 lux. Other cheaper models of camcorders often produce extremely grainy footage when in low light situations.

The HS200 also gives you the option of shooting still images. These can be stored at up to 10.6 megapixels and even features a flash for lower light settings.

Viewing what you are filming is taken care of by a 2.7” LCD screen which doubles as a screen to review your footage. The LCD screen is also a touch screen provide quick and easy access to functions such as face tracking.

Other features the HDC-HS200 offers include Panasonic’s image stabilisation in the form of Advanced O.I.S, face tracking/detection, a 12x optical zoom (with the possibility of going up to 700x with digital zoom), intelligent auto mode and AF tracking.
