Samsung HMX-H106 (64GB) details

The HMX-H106 from Samsung is the larger if the 3 models in their their HMC-H100 series of SSD based HD camcorders. The H106 has a large 64GB capacity provided via an internal SSD (solid state drive).

One of the great attractions of the HMXH106 is it’s wide-angle 37mm lens allowing you to film a much wider picture than a lot of other camcorders. The benefit of this is the ability to fit more scenery or people into the scene as you film. The H106 has a form of optical image stabilisation (O.I.S) which combats annoying camera shake as you film. Optical image stabilisation functions by making tiny shifts in the position of the lens to counteract any movement and instability giving you a clean, clear image at all times.

Like most other camcorders the HMX-H106 can be used to take still photos as well as video footage. The photographs are limited to 4.7MP but this is a useful feature to have so you never need miss one of those spontaneous photogenic moments while you are filming again.

The LCD display on the H106 is a LCD touch screen measuring 2.7” and has a special anti-reflective coating to keep it useable so even in bright settings. The touch screen provides you with simple and convenient access to the most common features without having to search for the correct button while you film.

One of the most unique features the HMX-H100 range of camcorders has to offer is the full angle hand grip. This allows the adjustment of the angle between the camcorder and hand grip allowing you to change recording positions while maintaining the same secure hand grip.

Since the SSD in the H104, H105 and H106 is a solid state device this range of camcorders is extremely resilient to the odd bump or knock, making it an ideal camcorder for more active pursuits
